In Jewish Studies we read the story of Solomon and the bee. We loved the story so much that we took turns retelling the story wearing hats.
We started on our building unit. We looked at different types of buildings and houses on the projector. We really liked the building that looked like a giant teapot. Then we took out cardboard building blocks and worked together to make a race car, a house, jet packs to fly us to the moon and a swimming pool. We are such great architects!
On Wednesday we celebrated our 100th day of school. Boy did they go by fast. We celebrated by making strawberry muffins, taking a silly picture of ourselves and turning off the lights and playing with glow sticks. It was the best day ever!
We love listening to the story of the Three Little Pigs and how the big bad wolf tries to huff and puff the pig’s houses down. In art we had the chance to make the three houses of the little pigs with hay, sticks and pretend bricks. After they dried, we tried to blow them over, but we weren’t strong enough. Now we know how the wolf felt. See if you have what it takes to blow them down when you pass by the bulletin board outside our classroom door.
We love sitting under our canopy and reading books together. Our current favorite books are The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Jack and the Beanstalk.
Our Junior Gardeners picked some broccoli out of our school garden to eat for snack. Some of us thought the broccoli looked like a bunch of flowers. We even smelled them. It tasted better than it smelled.
During Show – N – Tell we talked about: Anna & Elsa blanket, Pirates of the Caribbean bandana, A singing bunny, Heart stickers, A skull mask, Mickey Mouse, Captain America airplane, A tiny penguin and Rapunzel.
Nikki and Zachary did a wonderful job as our Ema and Abba. Next week our Ema is Elena and our Abba is Joshua.
We read the story of David and Goliath and then cut out Goliath on a huge piece of paper. We then took turns laying down and measuring out our bodies, to see how small we are compared to Goliath. Come by and see just how tall he was. I bet his mom had a hard time finding shoes for him.
