I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and that this will be my last blog. Ms. Janet and I have enjoyed having all of your children in our class this year. They are such a wonderful group of children who made us laugh and surprised us with their eagerness to learn. They are so ready to jump up to V.P.K. even though I would like to hold them all back so I can continue to spend my days with them. I’m going to miss all of my hugs and kisses that I would get through out the day. Wishing all of you a happy summer and look forward to seeing how much your children have grown when school starts again.
We had so much fun being junior chefs. We made delicious and messy spaghetti. Some of our friends were brave and tried black olives. Yum! We also made dough balls out of bread and dipped them in spaghetti sauce and tried tomatoes that we grew in our garden. Wow.
Question of the week: What was your favorite thing about being in Parparim and what will you learn next year when you are in V.P.K.?
Zach – Doing science experiments and water play day. Next year I will learn other people’s names.
Simon – Playing with my friends. Next year I will learn my letters.
Noam – Riding the school bus. Next year I will learn how to dance.
Joseph – Playing dress up. Next year I will learn how to be a good boy.
Andi – Playing with farm animals. Next year I will learn about firemen toys.
Emma – Our class picnic with Arden. Next year I will learn how to stay in a line.

Madison – That Ms. MaryAnne and Ms. Janet are the best! Next year I will learn math.
Mayer – Diamond “D” Ranch. Next year I will learn about the letter X.
Lela – Circle time. Next year I will learn about eyeballs.
Leah – That my teachers were nice. Next year I will learn how to brush my teeth.
We laughed so hard while we were playing with shaving cream. We put on smocks and then happily put out hands into our pile of shaving cream. We smeared the cream around and tried writing our names into it. We really loved smelling the shaving cream and squishing it between our fingers. Our tables never looked so clean. Madison was excited when she saw the shaving cream and told the class that her big brother shaves and uses the cream on his face. Too cute!
We made colorful necklaces and bracelets using beads and pipe cleaners. The children showed their creativity when they twisted three of the pipe cleaners together to make a bracelet. Most of our class wanted to make a beautiful necklace to give to their mommy. They are so thoughtful.
During music class with Ms. Zina we sang and danced to the Hokey Pokey and the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We learned about different composers and can guess a song by listening to the first five notes. Music is so much fun! Can’t wait for school to start back up to see what new songs we will be learning. La, la, la, la.
We did an amazing science experiment with balloons, water and a lit candle. Ms. Janet blew up a balloon and placed it over a lit candle. We counted to five and then POP! Our balloon popped into pieces. We then filled a balloon up with water and held it over a lit candle. Some of our class quickly put their hands over their ears waiting for the pop. We counted to five. Nothing happened. We counted to five again. Still nothing happened. Why wouldn’t the balloon pop? Ms. Janet explained that the water in the balloon was absorbing the heat from the candle preventing the balloon from popping. She then told the class that she would have to throw it against the wall to make it pop. All the children started jumping up and down and started laughing when the balloon hit the wall and landed on the ground without breaking. Ms. Janet had to throw the water balloon on the cement to break it. The class loved getting their legs and shoes splashed by the water in the balloon. Another successful science experiment! When we went back into the class room we blew up balloon for all the children and watched them throw them up into the air and catch them. The children were so cute when they made up a song about having a party with balloons.
Our class picnic was a blast! We set up a canopy tent outside and enjoyed our lunch in the cool shade. We were lucky to have a nice breeze to keep us cool. The children enjoyed the see saws, climbing on the giant tires, playing balls and swinging. The highlight was eating yummy popsicles! Thank you to all of the parents for bringing in chips, water and fruit. It was such a lovely way to spend time with everyone before our school year comes to an end. Ms. Janet and I loved the thoughtfulness you put into the beautiful planters you gave us. We will always think of you and your wonderful children when we look at them. You are all amazing!
Madison and Simon did a great job as our Ema and Abba this week.
Goodbye to our beautiful Parparim class. It’s time for you to fly away! Remember that we love you and will miss you.
